Lisa Dunnigan I believe that players respond best to positive feedback and encouragement. Point out what they do right, not wrong. It is important to teach the fundamentals from the very beginning. Get the players comfortable with the ball right away. Also, make practices fun by incorporating lots of soccer relevant games, not drills and lines.
Jeremy Schroeder Kids develop the most when working at home with family and friends and at training sessions with their team or club. Games and scrimmages are only an active measuring stick of their progression. Training should be structured so participants are actively engaged working on "soccer like" activities. Creating a positive, fun environment will keep kids coming back for more.
Char McDermott
Steve Odmark Help kids love the game and learn to make good soccer decisions.
Michael Learned All kids have the ability to play soccer, it is the coach's responsibility to help them discover those abilities.
Shannon Lacktorin
Cheryl Goralnick Kids should have fun but at the same time be learning the principles of play and developing their soccer skills. They need to be encouraged to play to the best of their individual abilities.
Steve Shissler I like to make soccer fun, but insist that the girls challenge themselves to understand the game and have a chance to win every time they take the field.
Brian Bonin
Jay Moor
michael witt I try to run my team as close to an adult team as I can, I find that players at a young age respond well to being treated as an "older" player and relish the challenge, especially when working with the highest level travel team. I also emphasize positive re-enforcement, four positive comments for every negative is my goal.
Jonas Lengauer
Todd Heckmann To teach kids the game of soccer and to love the game. Encourage players to work hard and continue to improve their skills.
Ryan Ascheman Encourage a fun, positive exciting soccer experience for all the players. Focus on good technique and team play. Try to keep all the players involved at all times.
Chisum Williamson Have fun, play hard, and take chances.
