The new volunteers session is now set up for the Summer 2012 season.  The first volunteer opportunities are posted.  Additionally, the fundraising committee could use help approaching local businesses.

The WBSC is a volunteer organization.  While we do have some hired coaches and trainers, the majority of the board members, ALCs and coaches are volunteers.  These volunteers allow us to run a top quality club while keeping the cost to participate at a minimum for our players.

But there are many other jobs that need to be done, and for that we rely on help from the rest of our membership. 

The WBSC offers a number of volunteer opportunities for it's members.

• Helping with tournaments and camps
• Coordinating fundraising efforts
• Working at the concession stand during home games
• Serving on task forces and committees

"Dibs" is an online tool that helps WBSC members select and track vounteer hours worked for the club.

Volunteer opportunities (hours and events) will be identified by the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers will then be able to claim those hours they wish to work. The system notifies volunteers of any new opportunities, emails a reminder prior to the date ov the event, and tracks the completion of hours for the Volunteer Coordinator.

Volunteers will be able to see all events/hours available and “claim” an item. They will receive an email reminder the day prior to their scheduled event. They will also have the ability to log into the site and view their personal Dibs account status.

Reminder - each traveling team needs to accrue 12 Dibs credits to qualify for Tournament reimbursement.  30 min of volunteer time = 1 credit
