Thank you Coaches!!!

THANK YOU!  We now have at least one coach per team.  However... you can still help.  You coach would love help during practices and games.  Talk to them and see how you can help.

U-6 Rules

U-6 Rules

1. Games consist of two 20 minute halves, with a five minute half time. Games should always start on time.

2. The home team is responsible for bringing the game flags, and supplying the game ball (Game ball is size 3). The home team will start the game with the first possession. The visiting team will start the second half with the ball.

3. The home team wears the orange shirts, and the visiting team wears white. All children should be encouraged to tuck their shirts in during the game. Socks must be worn on the outside of the shin gueards only. Once the children play with referees, these uniform guidelines will be enforced.

4.  Throw-in's should be used after the ball goes out of bounds. No goal kicks or corner kicks should be done. Coaches may have the children re-do throw in's for teaching purposes, but there are no fouls called for improper throws. All throw in's must be done from the nearest sideline. NOT the endline.

5. No teams are allowed to use goalies in the game. Although children can play a form of basic defense, children should be taught to stay out of an imaginary "goalie box" or "arch" when the ball is not in the area.

6. There should be no penalties called on players. Coaches may stop play to explain why something is not allowed (tripping, etc.) but should simply allow play to continue afterwards.

7. One coach is allowed on the field of play for each team. Only two coaches per team are allowed during a game.  COAHES DO NOT GIVE INSTRUCTIONS WHILE ON FIELD.  JOB IS TO KEEP PLAY GOING, DIRECT BALL BACK INTO FIELD, AND HELP PLAYER SUBSTITUTIONS. Parents must sit on the opposite side of the field from the team. This is mandatory.

8. Scores are not kept at this level. All children should be taught to line up and shake hands after each game.

9. Games are 3 players v.s 3 players.

10. Substitutions should try and be done when that team has the ball, or after goals are scored. Make every effort to not sub right when the other team is throwing the ball in.
