Join us on November 20-21 in the new Vadnais Heights Sports Center for 24 hours of soccer, fun and community involvement. The White Bear Soccer Club has teamed up with other local sports associations and Be The Match Foundation to work on this life saving mission.

Event begins - 9:00am, November 20th
Opening Ceremony - 11:30am
Event ends - 9:00am, November 21st
The event will feature games, concessions, skill contests, celebrity guests, raffle prizes, and of course... soccer, soccer and more soccer!
Q: What is a Sports Marrowthon?
A: It is a 24 hour sporting event held to raise funds and awareness for Be The Match Foundation and the National Bone Marrow Donor program.
Q. Where will the event be held?
A. The event will be held at the new Vadnais Heights Sports Center on County Road E in Vadnais Heights. In fact this event will be part of the big grand opening celebration for this new facility.
Q: Does the WBSC raise funds from the event?
A: Yes. Proceeds from the event are split as follows
50% to Be The Match Foundation
25% to the WBSC
25% to the teams participating
Q: Will my team be scheduled to play at night?
A: Teams will be scheduled to play at times appropriate for their age level. Night games will be reserved for older players or adults.
Q: Do I need to find an opposing team to play in order to sign up?
A: You do not need to find an opponent. Teams will be matched by the team coordinator according to age and playing level.
Q: What is required to sign up a team?
A: Teams are asked to raise a minimum of either $600 per team or $50 per player in donations in order to participate.
Q: What if I want to play but don't have a team signed up?
A: You may sign up to join a team as a single player.
Q: How are donations raised?
A: Each team is given their own web page on the Be The Match website. Donors are directed to the website and can make their donations online. All donations are tracked by Be The Match so the player gets credit.
Q: How do I get started signing up a team?
A: Go to www.BeTheMatch.org/WhiteBear and create a team. If you have questions or want help, contact our team coordinator, Erin Dougherty at erwindq1@aol.com.
Q: Besides raising money, what else does Be The Match gain by holding the Marrowthon.
A: The event will help raise awareness for the important, life saving work that the Foundation does. For more information about Be The Match Foundation and the Bone Marrow Donor program go to www.BeTheMatchFoundation.org.
Q: Can I sign up to be a bone marrow donor at the event?
A: Yes. You can put your name on the bone marrow registry at the event. This is optional and requires a simple swab of the inside of your mouth.
Q: Will there be other activities besides soccer games at the event?
A: Yes, there will be activities for children, raffle prizes, concessions and food vendors. There will be celebrities there to sign autographs. It is intended to be a fun family event.
Q: Is there a cost to attend if you don't play soccer?
A: No. The event is free.
