What Soccer Age is My Child?

The soccer year runs from Aug 1 to July 31. So Fall 2011 and Summer 2012 are one soccer season. One quick way to determine your child's soccer age is to ask yourself what age is my child on July 31 of this year - if they are 10 on July 31 - then they are a U10.

Should I Register for Competitive or Developmental (Recreational) soccer?

The White Bear Soccer Club takes great pride in providing everyone - from developmental to premier - a place to play summer soccer. Under-5 through Under-9 levels are reacreation/developmental while Under-9 and older are competitive.

The Developmental Program offers younger players program to build skills and compete with other teams in White Bear Lake.  At the U9 level the developmental program offers a less competitive and costly option.  Teams play other White Bear Lake teams, and in some cases may join with other neighboring clubs in order to field enough teams.

The Competitive Program generally plays in MYSA's East or North Districts.  They play one or two games and practice two or three times per week. Depending on the level of play, game nights may conflict with Community Services recreational baseball and softball game nights. Competitive teams typically play in several tournaments. The USA Cup in July is a favorite. State tournaments are held in late July.

How do I Request to Play up an Age Level?

Players that wish to register to play up an age level should select the requested (higher) age level when registering.  The registration system will calculate your fee based on this age level.  If your request is denied, a refund for any additional registration charges will be made.

Players requesting a play up must complete the questions explaining why you are making the request during the registration process.

How do I pay?

The WBSC uses an on-line registration system.  All registration fees must be paid using this system via Credit or Debit card.

Registration fees for competitive level players can be paid using one of the two options offered when registering online.

  • Pay In Full – Pay the entire traveling registration fee when you register and check out.
  • Payment Plan – With the payment plan, you are required to pay half of your fee at the time of registration.  The balance of your registration fee will be automatically charged to your credit card on February 1 of the playing year.

Registration fees for recreational soccer and fall soccer programs are due in full at the time of registration.

NOTE : YOU ARE NOT REALLY REGISTERED UNTIL YOUR ACCOUNT IS PAID IN FULL

Outstanding Player Fees

In some cases it may be necessary to pay an outstanding balance due on your account.  The Outstanding Player Fees registration can be used to do this on line via credit card.

Can I Request a Specific Coach for My Child?

For the rec program, teams are formed based on the players neighborhoods or schools as much as possible.  During the registration process you will see a text field asking you to list any special requests such as friends your child would like to play with, or the school they attend, or a specific coach they may want.  Use this field for any special requests of that nature.

Traveling teams are formed based on tryout results so special requests are not able to be honored in most cases.

I need a scholarship - What should I do?

  1. Visit the scholarship page and follow the instructions there.
  2. Please note that scholarship funds will not be granted to cover uniform costs.
