Coaches

The success of the White Bear SC is dependant on dedicated volunteers and our coaches are the front line of those volunteers. Good coaches are capable of motivating players with positive affirmations and teaching players with effective methods.

If you are interested in coaching at the Traveling level for the White Bear Soccer Club, please submit your application by clicking on the link below.

It is a requirement that all paid coaches, trainers, etc must be paid through the club (this is for tax purposes, the club can have a significant fine from the IRS or the State if the income is not reported).  Please identify to the registrar all teams that have paid coaches or trainers.

Coach/Trainer/Evaluator Payment forms can be found on the Forms page.

Coach/Manager Background Check

Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) has developed a "National Background Check Program for Adults Volunteering with MYSA and its Clubs".

CHANGE - You must register for Fall 2009 - Summer 2010; registrations from the summer do NOT carry over to the Fall session.

ALL (U05- U19) White Bear Soccer Club coaches, managers, and board members must be registered using this program.

The password and userid is MYSWBL.

To the right are some links for you to use during the registration process. All of these will open in a new window for you to have both the instructions and website open at the same time.

Returning Coach Scholarship Program

The WBSC encourages players to transition between being a player and moving to coaching.

To encourage this, the WBSC has approved a limited amount of funds for a scholarship program for previous WBSC players that are involved with WBSC teams in the capacity of coaching/training of WBSC teams. The criteria is that the former WBSC player is

  1. Not a hired coach for the team (paid by the team for services rendered),
  2. The player has played previous years with the WBSC (multiple years played but not consecutive years),
  3. The player is volunteering a minimum of 10 hours over the course of the summer season.
If you are interested in participating in the program, please contact an ALD in the age level you are interested in.
